The world's premier supplier of technologically advanced,
impeccably engineered heat transfer equipment.
Armstrong Chemtec Group has been a designer and manufacturer of robust specialty heat transfer equipment to the oil refining, chemical processing, petrochemical, polysilicon, agricultural, healthcare, and other industries for over seven decades.
Highest quality and accuracy for automation.
Automation without inductive sensors can hardly be imagined. Wear-resistant, reliable,
non-contact position detection of metallic objects is essential wherever automation is used —
whether in mechanical engineering, electronics production, automotive, food, or the plastics industry.
Balluff provides a wide range of inductive sensors in various designs suitable for nearly any
application: from standard sensors to models with extended switching distance, hygienic sensors,
high-pressure sensors, ex-zone sensors for hazardous environments, and factor-1 sensors.
Some special versions feature ceramic or PTFE coatings to prevent adhesion of weld spatter.
Sensors that are both factor-1 and all-metal are also available.
With Balluff inductive sensors, you can automate, monitor, and control processes with the
highest precision — even in extreme environments.
Armstrong Chemtec brings 70 years of process heat transfer experience to electric heater design.
Armstrong Chemtec works closely with you to determine the best electric heater for your specific application.
In addition to meeting all thermal and hydraulic requirements, the electric heater design also accounts for
process characteristics and fluid behavior.
ELECTRIC HEATER BENEFITS
• Precise temperature control with fast response times
• Ideal for heating fluids to high temperatures
• Unlimited turndown
• Suitable for hazardous areas
• No in-plant emissions
Armstrong Chemtec manufactures longitudinal (LFT) and helical (WHF) finned equipment for
heating high viscosity products.
Armstrong Chemtec fabricates finned equipment using carbon steel, low alloy steels,
stainless steels, and high nickel alloys. Fins are welded directly to the tube or pipe to
maximize heat transfer, and fin height and density are customized according to process needs.
Fins significantly enhance the heat transfer between two thermally mismatched fluids.
Finned equipment is most effective when heating high-viscosity, thermally insulating fluids
using steam. While high Reynolds flows of tempered water or thermal oils are less effective,
they remain viable options.
Melt crystallization combined with the Hydraulic Wash Column provides exceptionally high purity
— up to 99.9% in a single step — while reducing energy consumption by
10% to 80% compared to traditional distillation.
Armstrong Chemtec partners with SoliQz to deliver a versatile, low-energy solid-liquid separator
for high-purity chemicals. Together, they provide comprehensive support in:
• Feasibility studies
• Pilot plant trials
• Scale up
• Supply of industrial-scale equipment
Armstrong Chemtec also produces fully modularized systems equipped with its high-quality
process equipment. These systems are delivered completely piped and instrumented, allowing
seamless integration into a larger process plant.
Armstrong Chemtec’s modularized solutions offer fully engineered packages for vaporization,
electric heating, and scraped surface crystallization applications. These systems simplify
project execution by allowing EPC contractors and end users to focus on plant-wide engineering
instead of detailed design, fabrication, and testing of individual process modules.
Armstrong Chemtec's continuous scraped surface heat exchanger is a double-pipe design
commonly used for cooling crystallization and viscous liquid cooling applications.
Heat transfer occurs across the inner pipe wall as coolant flows through the annulus between
the outer pipe and the process-fluid-containing inner pipe.
Inner pipe sizes range from 6” NPS to 12” NPS, while the outer pipe may be
as large as 16” NPS. Commercial installations typically include multiple
double-pipe elements connected in series, with each element ranging from
20 to 50 ft in length.
Armstrong Chemtec vertical bayonet vaporizers are a superior general-purpose vaporization
technology, trusted for their performance, reliability, and versatility. These units are
widely used in refineries as well as the chlorine industry.
Armstrong Chemtec is uniquely recognized as the only chlorine vaporizer manufacturer
that is a member of both the Chlorine Institute and Euro Chlor,
demonstrating its commitment to quality, safety, and industry leadership.
The Ibex Automated Wax Moulding System with AccuFreeze Technology produces 5 kg slabs of
food-grade paraffin wax with exceptional precision. Each slab measures
485 mm x 300 mm x 45 mm and is produced within a tight tolerance of
± 25 g.
The system is fully automated and available in capacities ranging from
1.5 tonnes to 7 tonnes per hour. It delivers complete process integration
and ensures consistent food-grade output.
Key features include:
• Total plant integration
• Food-grade product handling
• High-accuracy mass flow meters
• Minimal changeover time
