CEMENT

Cement Industry

The cement industry is one of our primary sectors essential for sustainable development and is often regarded as the backbone of progress. Our cement manufacturing process includes three main stages: the mining and preparation of raw materials; the chemical reactions that produce clinker; and the grinding of clinker with other components to produce cement. Older kilns use a slurry-based wet process, while modern large plants use dry materials fed directly into the kiln.

The chemical process that converts limestone to lime releases nearly the same amount of carbon dioxide as the energy consumed in production, especially for coal-fired kilns. The advanced technologies we use help reduce the clinker content in each ton of cement, providing multiple environmental and operational advantages.

Cement is primarily used as a binder in concrete, which is a fundamental material for all types of construction — including housing, roads, schools, hospitals, dams, and ports. It is also widely used for decorative purposes such as patios, flooring, staircases, driveways, and pool decks, as well as for functional items like tables, sculptures, and bookcases.
