High Pressure Rupture Disc Assembly (HPSR)

OsecoElfab’s HPSR (High Pressure Scored Reverse) buckling rupture disc assembly is designed and manufactured for demanding high pressure gas and liquid applications. Its welded design eliminates leak paths and allows for easy installation.

The HPSR is able to withstand full vacuum, elevated temperatures and 95% operating conditions. Its assembly is an ideal solution for your most demanding applications, including those considered to be "very high" cycling.

Precision Scored Reverse Rupture Disc (PSR)

The OsecoElfab PSR is a reverse-buckling disk that opens along scored lines and is designed to be non-fragmenting. The PSR rupture disk has a 90% operating ratio for applications requiring a high operating to set pressure ratio. Due to its high operating ratio and non-fragmenting design, the PSR is an excellent choice for the isolation of safety relief valves.

Flat Low-Pressure Composite Rupture Disc (FLCO)

OsecoElfab's FLCO is a flat low pressure rupture disc that mounts between ANSI RF flanges and does not require a rupture disc holder. The FLCO is available with an optional burst sensor for applications that require monitoring (FLCOS).

Opti-Gard Ferrule SoLo

Opti-Gard Ferrule SoLo provides the highest performance characteristics available where low burst pressures are required within a sanitary environment.

The disc features a smooth metal surface and an FDA certified seal to ensure compatibility with CIP and SIP requirements.

Designed for installation between ferrules, tri-clamps and NA-connect*, Opti-Gard Ferrule SoLo is ideal for applications in the food and beverage sector as well as the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.

Opti-Gard for API

OsecoElfab's high-performance Opti-Gard rupture disc for API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) manufacturing plants is a non-torque sensitive reverse acting disc manufactured to meet ASME BPE requirements. The disc features a smooth, uninterrupted surface on the process side, with electropolishing and oxygen cleaning available. The disc features a non-fragmenting design and is suitable for Clean-In-Place (CIP) and Steam-in-Place (SIP) processes.

Opti-Gard for API is avaliable with our non-invasive burst sensor Flo-Tel to reduce the risk of contamination and eliminate re-wiring costs following disc activation.

OPR+/OPK+ for API

OsecoElfab’s OPR+/OPK+ is a high performance reverse buckling rupture disc that provides a single disc solution across a wide range of sizes and burst pressure. The OPR+/OPK+ is suitable for use with Flo-Tel, our non-invasive magnetic burst detection.

Flat Composite Bursting Disc

The forward acting Flat Composite rupture disc has a composite design with a unique tri-membrane construction.

This non-fragmenting composite disc offers enhanced protection, reliability and leak tightness for very low burst pressure applications.

We can also manufacture the disc with various slotting arrangements to meet customers’ specific application requirements.

The Flat Composite disc is fitted with a Flo-Tel actuator as standard; install the disc into Elfab’s forward-acting rupture disc holder.

Domed Composite Bursting Disc

The Domed Composite disc features a non-fragmenting design with a unique tri-membrane construction. This provides improved protection and reliability for low to medium pressure applications.

The disc is suitable for process conditions ranging from 0.3 barg to 17 barg thanks to the combination of a sealing membrane with varying metal options. We pre-form the disc to a specific dome height for accurate burst pressure capability.

Various slotting arrangements are available to suit the requirements of your particular application.

VAPRO / POSIPRO

OsecoElfab’s POSIPRO/VAPRO pressure relief solution offers a pair of bidirectional rupture discs that provide both positive and vacuum pressure protection.

The POSIPRO is designed for applications requiring extremely low positive pressure relief while providing vacuum protection up to 100 psig. The VAPRO rupture disc is designed for applications requiring extremely low vacuum relief while providing positive pressure protection up to 100 psig.

Top Hat Assembly

In the Top Hat Assembly, the disc is welded directly to the top hat, creating a single-piece welded tee design. Leakage at the seating area of the rupture disc assembly is eliminated. The assembly's overall design prevents product build up as it reduces resistance to flow while still providing flowing fluid over the rupture disc surface. The disc is placed as close to the flow as possible to further reduce product buildup. As an additional benefit, standard piping and flanges replace the diaphragm valve body, making the top hat a more affordable solution than using diaphragm valves.

Tank-Safe

Tank-Safe is specifically designed for rail car use. It is non-fragmenting to comply with safety measures within arduous transportation conditions. Tank-Safe can withstand full vacuum.

As an alternative to rail car use, we also offer a holderless Tank-Safe design for applications where a rupture disc holder is not required. Depending on the process temperature, we can supply the holderless design with a gasket to allow for direct installation between industry-standard flanges.

Scored Railcar Disc (SRC)

OsecoElfab's SRC or Scored Railcar Disc is an alternative to railcar discs containing PTFE seals. The scored technology used in the all metal SRC eliminates the possibility of leaks caused by the PTFE in composite discs. The SRC is designed to fit standard threaded or bolted railroad tank car safety vents.

Hydrochloric Acid Railcar Disc (HCL-RC)

The OsecoElfab HCL-RC or Hydrochloric Acid Railcar Disc is typically used in rubber lined railroad tank cars. As it's name suggests, it is an excellent choice for use in highly corrosive environments.

Soldered Disc Assemblies (SDA)

OsecoElfab’s soldered disc assemblies (SDAs) are designed to protect machines and equipment from over pressurization. The soldered design eliminates the traditional leak points and assures positive performance of the disc.

Our soldered disc assemblies are configured to meet customer specific designs and applications offered in a wide range of burst pressures, sizes, and materials.

Capped Plug (OE2)

OE2 is a capped disc and plug design using conventional rupture discs, either flat or domed. The unit plug is typically made from brass with a nickel disc. However, other materials are available on request.

OE2 assemblies can be used in a variety of industries, from aerospace to fire protection. The advantages of OE2 rupture disc assemblies include their high operational performance and excellent leak tightness (10-4cc/sec, depending on design). These benefits come with a zero-maintenance design.

Electron-Beam Welded Assembly (OE5)

The OE5 rupture disc assembly combines a scored rupture disc that is electron-beam welded directly onto the end of a plug assembly. The plug is of stainless steel as standard, with a stainless steel or nickel disc.

Electron-beam welding affords superior leak tightness and the highest integrity possible while reducing the risk of premature failure.

PRD/OTU

OsecoElfab's Pressure Relief Device, or PRD, is designed specifically for clean agent fire suppression systems and is used for both tank and bottle protection. The fast-acting rupture disc will open within milliseconds, making it an ideal solution when charging or transporting tanks and bottles containing clean agent suppressants, including HCF's (hydrofluorocarbons), CO2, and inert gases.

Extruder Burst Plugs

Our extruder rupture disc plugs are high-performance pressure relief devices primarily designed for overpressure protection of the plastic extrusion process. Each plug consists of a threaded body with a conventional rupture disc either soldered or welded to the end. The disc sits flush with the extruder’s pressure vessel wall, ensuring there are no cavities where product can stagnate and solidify, or cause damage through build-up. The design prevents possible leakage, regardless of pressure and temperature.

Graphite G2 Bursting Disc

The Graphite G2 disc is a tension-loaded forward acting rupture disc. It is corrosion resistant and can withstand operating temperatures up to 180°C.

As a multi-purpose pressure relief solution, the G2 disc is particularly suitable for processes using highly aggressive chemicals where fragmentation is not an issue. We precision machine the disc for excellent burst tolerances. Where the burst pressure exceeds 1.7 barg (24.7 psig), no additional vacuum support is needed. We can manufacture the bursting disc with a graphite or stainless steel holder, depending on your requirements.

Universal Arma-Gard

As a non-torque sensitive graphite rupture disc, Universal Arma-Gard has a holderless design for easy installation between industry standard flanges (PN, ANSI, BS). Arma-Gard is suitable for applications operating at low to very low pressures. The stainless-steel armoured ring protects the graphite disc both during installation and when in use. The bursting disc is therefore not affected by misaligned, poorly supported pipework or uneven torque tightening of pipe flange bolts.

Tool Activation Discs

OsecoElfab's ½” NPT burst plug is ideal for activation of tools or for use as a drain plug. The ¼” NPT burst plug is used when space is limited and is a very popular activation plug.

Both plug sizes can be set for pressures up to 30,000 psig with a tolerance of +/-5%. Custom designs are available.

EB Explosion Vents

Our multi-layered designs combine layers of stainless steel and fluoropolymer to create a high-performance explosion venting solution. Available as square, rectangular, round or trapezoid, with a wide range of bolt pattern configurations, the panels are all non-fragmenting and offer fail-safe, rapid full venting. They also provide a dust-tight seal with excellent corrosion resistance. The multi-layered domed design offers the highest operating ratio of all our explosion vents (80%), with enhanced operating performance under cyclic pressure, back pressure and vacuum conditions.

CRVC

This rectangular domed explosion vent has a heavy-duty design that incorporates much thicker materials than standard explosion vent designs. The CRVC can withstand higher positive or negative system operating pressures than flat vents. Positive system pressure should be limited to 70% of set pressure (Pstat). The precision in design, manufacturing techniques and testing assures a superior product that provides overpressure protection with minimal or no fragmentation. The CRVC is excellent for use in high cycling applications such as dust collectors.

Lift-Gard

Designed specifically to protect vertical bucket elevators, Elfab’s Lift-Gard explosion venting panel features a robust construction with an integral outer frame. The frame protects the panel from vibrations and harsh operating conditions. The non-fragmenting design allows full opening of the venting panel in the event of an explosion to ensure maximum safety. Lift-Gard is a reliable, cost-effective solution that is easy to install. In addition, it is the only flat explosion vent to combine an integral frame with an ATEX-approved burst detection system in a single product.

MV-BE

The Oseco MV-BE is a heavy duty explosion vent designed to protect bucket elevators operating under high vibration conditions or other demanding applications. The MV-BE is designed to meet the requirements set forth in NFPA 61 and NFPA 68. In addition, the built-in outlet frame eliminates the need to fabricate an angle iron hold down frame.

Threaded Holder

The OsecoElfab Threaded Rupture Disc Holder is widely used on high pressure applications up to 15,000 psig. Standard inlet connections are 1/4" NPT or 1/2" NPT with 1/2" NPT or muffled outlet. Other connections are available to meet your exact specifications.

LKR Holder

The LKR holder is designed specifically for use with the LoKr reverse buckling rupture disc. When used together, the LoKr disc and LKR holder create a leak-tight unit that improves safety and efficiency by reducing opportunities for leak paths within the plant. The holder's tapered seal design allows for easier installation.

Bolted Holder

Our Bolted Holder assembly is available with any combination of either weld-neck or threaded inlet and outlet connections. Full diameter flat-faced inlet and outlet flanges are available and designed to be used between ANSI companion flanges. The Bolted Rupture Disc Holders are designed to be used with or in place of ANSI B16.5. Standard materials of construction are carbon steel and 316 Stainless Steel. Other materials are available upon request.

Forward Disc Holder

Our forward rupture disc holders are specifically designed and manufactured to ensure the correct performance of our forward acting bursting discs when fitted between flanges.

We design our holders for raised face flanges as standard but offer other options such as RTJ or tongue-and-groove on request. We also manufacture many holders as a multi-flanged design, offering you a unique opportunity to reduce stock and improve supply chain management.

Pre-Torqued Insert Holder

OsecoElfab Pre-Torqued Holders, FRDI(P) and PRDI(P), are designed to be removed for inspection purposes and returned to service without disturbing the torque values placed on the rupture disc. This feature provides significant savings during maintenance and inspection procedures.

Double Disc Assembly

Our Double Disc Assembly (DDA) places two rupture discs in series. The discs may comprise two forward acting discs, two reverse acting discs or a combination of forward and reverse acting discs.

Should the primary disc rupture, the secondary disc prevents environmental pollution while the intermediate pressure sensor alerts maintenance teams of the need to replace the primary disc.

The key benefit of the DDA is the enhanced protection it affords for severe process conditions. Where corrosive substances or harsh chemicals may shorten the service life of the primary disc, the secondary disc will still offer full protection. This reduces leakage and affords excellent valve protection, consequently minimising process downtime following an overpressure event.
